La Vitrina – La Vitrina es un nuevo espacio expositivo ubicado en la “ventana” del Lado V de TEOR/éTica. Fue inaugurado en Mayo de 2013 con el proyecto Fermentando Sinergias de Carlos Fernández. Funciona como un lugar de exposición abierto 24/7 que propicia el vínculo con el espacio público desde un espacio privado. El objetivo de La Vitrina es que los transeúntes del Barrio Amón, puedan interactuar y ser interpelados con proyectos artísticos que promuevan la curiosidad y la reflexión en torno a eventos de actualidad, así como la participación y apropiación del espacio urbano, entre otros.
La Convocatoria – El proyecto Hacer Noticia en La Vitrina, busca propuestas artísticas que planteen formas creativas de intervenir el espacio, y que sean el resultado de un análisis a profundidad sobre algún tema de actualidad y como este es tratado en los medios de comunicación masiva en Costa Rica. Interesan proyectos experimentales que pueden ser procesuales, que planteen una reflexión crítica sobre la forma en que los medios de comunicación emiten la información y cómo esta es digerida y procesada por el público.

La propuesta de intervención del espacio de La Vitrina deberá estar formulada con claridad para que, tanto el tema propuesto como lo que se quiere comunicar, se comprenda y atraiga a un público amplio. La intención es que promueva diversas maneras de “leer” los eventos de actualidad.

Esta convocatoria insta a los participantes a indagar en el contexto social para formular propuestas artísticas a partir de su realidad inmediata.Debido a las condiciones físicas del espacio, La Vitrina cuenta con muy poca seguridad, por lo cual no es recomendable hacer uso de equipo tecnológico u otros materiales de costo elevado. Para la realización del proyecto de intervención seleccionado, Lado V ofrece una bolsa de trabajo de hasta $500, además de apoyo logístico y de difusión.

Residência Phosphorus, São Paulo. Inscrições até 15/07

Estão abertas, até 15/07, as inscrições para a Residência Phosphorus, etapa nacional.
Phosphorus é um espaço experimental, sem fins lucrativos, localizado em um casarão histórico no coração de São Paulo, onde a cidade foi fundada.
Essa é a terceira fase do projeto contemplado pelo PROAC. Nessa etapa um artista será selecionado (de qualquer parte do Brasil com exceção da cidade de São Paulo).
A residência ocorre em um período de 2 meses (agosto-outubro), o artista selecionado recebe um valor de R$ 5000,00, espaço para ateliê, possibildade de ocupação de todo espaço expositivo do Phosphorus e acompanhamento crítico e logístico para desenvolvimento de sua produção. Não é necessário o envio de um projeto, já que o foco da residência é a possibildade de interação com o meio, a casa (e suas atividades) e o entorno urbano.

Criadores de todo o mundo são convidados a apresentar propostas de obras para a exposição inaugural do Fórum Eugénio de Almeida, que terá lugar de 11 de julho a 15 de setembro de 2013. A partir de uma reflexão sobre as origens do edifício do Fórum, Portas Abertas abre um debate sobre a questão da intolerância no passado e no presente. As obras recebidas no âmbito deste projeto deverão abordar temas relacionados com os seguintes tópicos: igualdade – desigualdade – tolerância – intolerância – inquisição – poder – paz – violência – injustiça – justiça – conflito – reconciliação – exclusão – pluralidade.

Barracão Maravilha’s International Residency program is an opportunity open to artists, curators and academics from the whole world who wish to explore their practice in a vibrant and challenging new context;

This residency is aimed at autonomous professionals who wish to expand their knowledge and challenge their practice on an international level. Individuals who wish to immerse themselves in the fabric of the city, produce and present new work. The program offers a professional mentor active in the contemporary art scene such as a renowned artist or curator. The mentor will follow the artist-in-residence’s progress with a view to help them realize a public presentation of the work carried out during the residency which can be in the format of a text, exhibition, talk or workshop. Is situated in Lapa, the cultural corridor of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Phosphorus é um espaço para a experimentação artística. Aberto em dezembro de 2011, ocupa uma casa histórica no centro de São Paulo e se projeta no entorno urbano. Phosphorus é o desejo da criação deste lugar para o encontro, sítio de reuniões, ambiente de convivência e plataforma de desenvolvimento de projetos colaborativos. PH é uma experiência de ser livre de amarras institucionais ultrapassadas. A casa, construída em 1890, possui espaço de trabalho coletivo, ateliês temporários, espaço para residências, ambientes expositivos, escritório de economia criativa, cozinha experimental, um jardim em processo, biblioteca aberta e sala de “estar”. Sua missão é buscar e encontrar formas alternativas de independência material e mental, criando um novo modo de organização da vida em comum, para permitir-nos um constante estado de criação.

PCA Summer Creative Residency – An Exchange Between Artists and Designers – June 17–July 26, 2013

Emerging artists are invited to consider how their practice could be developed within the structure of a six-week residency in Paris. The residency’s aim is to enhance the individual’s independent practice by providing them with the space, guidance, and resources necessary to fully investigate a defined project. Residents work from a large communal studio; in addition, they have access to the ceramics, welding, woodworking and mold-making workshops, photography studio and darkroom, printmaking facility, fashion atelier and computer lab. Visiting professional artists, designers, curators, and writers engage with residents via lectures, critiques, and workshops. Visits to museums, contemporary exhibitions and cultural spaces in and around Paris will be organized to complement and enrich residents’ creative development.

Artists Research Laboratory

CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory is a project where dialogue and exchange among artists of different generations and nationalities stand at the heart of a unique artistic and learning experience. The lab is open to fifteen young artists of all nationalities, selected among the applicants by a jury. The programme lasts twenty-four days during which the participants attend a daily workshop activity and theoretical seminars run by the invited artist, the director, the curators and guest lecturers, as well as conferences held by artists, critics and experts of other disciplines.

The 19th edition of the laboratory, titled Meaning of Things, will be held in Como from the 5th to the 29th of July 2013. American artist Matt Mullican will be leading the workshop.

SDG (Sámi Center for Contemporary Art) announces the Iver Jåks Artist-In-Residency Program 2013. Named after the late Sami artist Iver Jåks, this international artist-in-residence program offers a two months residency in Karasjok, Norway.

Conditions for Iver JÃ¥ks Artist-In-Residency Program 2013

1. Professional visual artists are eligible to apply for Iver JÃ¥ks Residency Program

2. Iver JÃ¥ks Residency Program offers a residency period for up to two months (minimum 1 month) in Karasjok, Norway.

3. Iver JÃ¥ks Residency Program includes a stipend of 20000 NOK, accommodation, access to studio/atelier, as well as travel expenses for the artist. The stipend covers living expenses as well as production costs. Further production costs are negotiable.

4. Available residency period for 2013 is 1st of June to 31st of October.

5. The application must include application letter, curriculum vitae and a digital portfolio. Applications are only received digitally. Send your application to samidaiddaguovddas@gmail.com.

6. Deadline is at 23.59, March 10, 2013.

7. The selection of residency artist will be carried out during March and first part of April. The results are expected to be announce by mid-April. The artistic advisory board at Sami Center for Contemporary Art will make the selection. Quality of artistic practice is the exclusive selection criteria. Choice of artist will not be motivated or justified, and cannot be questioned. Sami Center for Contemporary Art administers the residency program and is the host during the residency period.

8. The combined apartment and atelier at the Iver JÃ¥ks house in Karasjok will function as living and working space for the artist-in-residence.

9. A contract between selected artist and Sámi Center for Contemporary Art will be organized, detailing residency conditions.
